The Zambian Movement for Community Health Action (ZAMCHA) is a non governmental organisation  founded in 2001. It is registered with the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services – Dept of Non Governmental Organisations – RNGO RNGO101/1509/2021. The movement’s sole purpose is improving community health through research and training.

To improve community health through research, community education, training of community based agents, and building lasting collaborations with community leaderships and relevant stakeholders.

Our vision is to see Healthy Communities in both urban and rural Geolocations, with community leaders and stakeholders highly involved in the health of their communities.

OBJECTIVES

ZAMCHA is a non profit organisation whose objectives are as follows:

  • To conduct research for evidence-based health practices
  • To Encourage utilization of Reproductive health Services
  • To Train different subsets of Community – Based Agents on prevention control and early detection of Non-communicable diseases (NCDs)
  • To ensure key social determinants of health are met for rural communities – provision of clean water and sanitation
  • To improve the nutrition status of urban and rural communities
  • To Improve first trimester attendance of Antenatal clinics
  • To improve adolescent health services
  • To improve access to healthcare for Orphans and the vulnerable
  • To improve health services for Key Populations
  • To establish income generating activities among community groups
  • To ensure that Health is observed as a basic human right
  • To Collaborate with local leadership to end early child marriages
  • To promote  Girl Child education
  • To care  for disabled children
